Company Using Responsys Interact to Build Better Relationships with Customers, Employees

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 27, 2001 - Responsys, Inc., a pioneer in optimized interactive marketing solutions, today announced that the Dow Corning Corporation, a manufacturer of diverse silicon-based products, has selected the Responsys® platform to implement personalized, permission-based one-to-one marketing programs and to manage interactive employee communications.

Dow Corning is using Responsys Interact™, the industry`s most comprehensive interactive marketing solution, to enhance relationships with customers online. Through Responsys Interact campaigns, Web site registrants are asked whether they found the information they were seeking, and are given an opportunity to send feedback to the company. This allows Dow Corning to evaluate site usability and effectiveness, to qualify sales leads, and to serve customers better by responding to their individual requests.

"We`re pleased with the results of our initial campaigns. Responsys is allowing us to transform our Web site from a one-way electronic brochure into a two-way relationship-building tool," said Tim Adams, global manager of marketing communications for Dow Corning`s Electronics business unit. "We plan to implement automated Responsys campaigns in some of our internal communications programs as well."

Internally, the technology will be used to notify sales distributors of new product information, product promotions, and local sales trainings and tradeshows. In addition, Dow Corning will utilize the Responsys platform in a human resources capacity to survey employee attitudes and concerns.

"Dow Corning is using Responsys Interact in highly innovative ways," said George Wiedemann, president and CEO of Responsys. "The company will benefit from Responsys` high-ROI one-to-one communication capabilities in both its sales and human resources functions."
