UpShot, Demandline Co-Founder Bob Schulman To Drive Engineering

SAN CARLOS, Calif., April 30, 2001 ­ Hipbone, Inc., a leading provider of real-time web interaction solutions for e-sales and e-service, today announced that industry veteran Bob Schulman has been named vice president of engineering for the company. As VP of engineering, Schulman will report directly to Hipbone President and CEO Michael Sayer and will oversee Hipbone¹s product development, quality assurance, technical publications and training.

Schulman joins Hipbone with over fifteen years of successive engineering accomplishments. He was most recently co-founder of Demandline.com, an online purchasing aggregator of core business services for small companies. Prior to Demandline.com, he was co-founder and vice president of application technology at UpShot.com, the first web-based sales force automation service, which was recently named one of the Top 20 ASPs in the world. At UpShot, Schulman was responsible for developing UpShot Online and the Intranet version of UpShot Sales. Earlier, Schulman was a senior member of the engineering management team at Intuit, Inc., where he built the first GUI version of Quicken, the popular personal accounting software. He also led the online banking development and client engineering teams for the company-wide Internet initiative to launch Quicken.com.

In addition to his technical skills, Schulman has broad experience in technical strategy and planning and has had repeated success in recruiting and motivating exceptional engineering teams, winning numerous industry awards along the way. Schulman has published multiple technical papers, holds two technology patents and has four pending applications. Schulman holds a B.S. with distinction and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
