New York, April 30, 2001 – Return Path, Inc., the leading provider of email change-of-address and email list optimization services, today announced that its Email Change-of-Address (ECOA) Network has rapidly expanded to 42 companies and more than 90 million email addresses.

The Return Path ECOA Service provides businesses with a privacy-protected way to maintain correct email addresses for their customers, offering the same value to marketers as the U.S. Postal Service`s National Change of Address (NCOA) service for postal address changes.

Recent client signings to the ECOA Network include Brooks Brothers, Radisson, MarketsOnDemand, Restoration Hardware, PCH.com (Publishers Clearinghouse), Moving.com, ModernBride.com, CheapTickets.com, AutoWeb, and FreeLotto, making it the largest business network to facilitate consumer email address changes.

"We`re committed to helping companies recover online customer relationships through a secure, privacy-driven email change-of-address platform," said Matt Blumberg, CEO of Return Path. "We`re thrilled that our model is resonating with savvy marketers who want to maximize revenue and cost savings they achieve through email."

According to an NFO Research Group survey, 32% of consumers change their email address each year, due to change of job, ISP, or residence. However, only a small percentage of those consumers currently notify commercial contacts of these changes. The annual decay rate of email addresses currently exceeds the 17% annual decay rate of consumer land addresses, and costs marketers billions of dollars each year in wasted marketing costs, re-acquisition costs, and opportunity costs from lost client relationships.

"As a leading provider of Internet-derived, permission-based direct marketing data solutions, we understand the importance of fresh and deliverable addresses -- whether email or postal," said Tony Priore, President of MarketsOnDemand. "Since the perishability of email addresses is an ongoing concern for marketers, this partnership with Return Path will help to ensure our marketing database includes only the most current, privacy compliant information."

"The addition of Return Path`s Email Change-of-Address service to our site is a natural fit," said Anand Singh, Director of Business Development for Moving.com. "Not only does it help our customers solve one more piece of the relocation process, it provides direct benefit to our business, helping us extend and retain customer relationships."

"We`ve selected Return Path to provide an email change-of-address service for our customers, many of whom are changing their emails once they get married." said Carolyn Everson, President and CEO of ModernBride.com. "It`s important for our business to stay in touch with the bride after she`s married to assist her in the first year of marriage and registry completion services. Return Path is clearly the leader in this market, and we wanted to partner with them to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service."
