WalMart.com has chosen Vicinity Corp., a provider of retail outlet location services, to provide store locators and maps on WalMart.com for Wal-Mart stores. “Creating a larger, holistic customer experience is an essential part in the successful convergence between the online and offline properties of businesses today, and we are thrilled to be bridging those worlds for Wal-Mart," said Emerick Woods, CEO and president of Vicinity.

Vicinity`s Business Finder and its proximity-based geo-coding capabilities enable Walmart.com visitors to find the nearest Wal-Mart location, and access maps for more than 2,600 properties throughout North America. The Store Finder feature lets people search for the nearest Wal-Mart location by city, state and zip code. Vicinity`s Business Finder will not only let Walmart.com customers find the location nearest them, but also provide information about specific store attributes, such as if the store has an in-store Vision Center, McDonald`s restaurant, photo center, pharmacy, or Tire and Lube Express.

Vicinity`s customers include FedEx, Ford, GM, Hilton Hotels Corp., Marriott, McDonald`s, NEC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Starwood Hotels, Taco Bell, Toyota, Levi Strauss & Co. and UPS.
