SAN FRANCISCO, April 4, 2001 -Digital Island, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISLD) announced that Mary Ms. Cirillo, chairman and chief executive officer of OpCenter, LLC, was elected to serve as a member of Digital Island`s Board of Directors. Ms. Cirillo brings extensive experience in the financial services industry, as well as in technology, specializing in global banking and e-commerce.
In addition to serving as Chairman and CEO of OpCenter, a privately held company that provides help desk and network operations services, Ms. Ms. Cirillo currently serves as a director of Cisco Systems, Inc., Quest Diagnostics, Inc., and as a director of two privately held companies, Guardent, Inc. and Spontaneous Networks, Inc. In addition, Ms. Cirillo serves on the Advisory Board of Hudson Ventures and is chairman of Contentprose, LLC, which provides support for website content development and maintenance.
Ms. Cirillo joined OpCenter, LLC, in June 2000 after serving as Chief Executive Officer of Global Institutional Services, and Divisional Board Member of Global Technology and Services for Deutsche Bank. Ms. Cirillo has also served in senior management positions for financial services firms including Bankers Trust Company and Citibank.
During her 20-year career at Citibank, Ms. Cirillo was responsible for the Global Relationship Banking Operations and Technology Group, where she managed the operations and information technology needs of global capital markets, transaction services and corporate finance businesses.
As Division Executive for Global Cash Management Services at Citibank, Ms. Cirillo built the global business model for Transaction Products, led a Corporate Task Force aimed at helping Citicorp realize the objectives of its recovery plan and was the Senior Corporate Officer for the Business Evaluation and Corporate Re-engineering Unit.
