Kmart integrates system to improve customer service

Kmart Corp., is deploying the Plumtree Corporate Portal for 250,000 associates, for improved customer service, sales reports, self-service pay and benefits administration, and business applications.

Kmart Corp., is deploying the Plumtree Corporate Portal for 250,000 associates, for improved customer service, sales reports, self-service pay and benefits administration, and business applications. Corporate and field associates now log on to MyKmart.com from their desks, at proprietary store kiosks and, soon, cash registers. Plumtree is helping Kmart deliver an Internet desktop for its distributed workforce. The company says this system will speed customer service, create sales and marketing-driven growth, and increase employee retention.

"Kmart is deploying the Plumtree Corporate Portal to put business information from backend systems into the hands of all our associates. By doing this we help our associates make the everyday decisions that add up to billions of dollars of value annually," said Steven Hunter, Kmart`s divisional vice president, financial and administrative systems.
