Tom McIntyre has been named senior vice president and CFO of Kozmo, the online retailer for entertainment, food, household items and specialty gifts. McIntyre is the former executive vice president and CFO of BMG Entertainment, a division of Bertelsmann A.G. In his new role, McIntyre will oversee the finance, legal and human resources functions of Kozmo, which operates in nine U.S. cities and is headquartered in New York City. McIntyre succeeds Gerry Burdo, who was promoted to president and CEO in July 2000.

"Tom comes to Kozmo with three decades of experience monitoring rapid business expansion while maintaining disciplined financial and operational control," Burdo said. "His talent will be a tremendous addition to our senior management team, which remains focused on achieving market by market profitability while providing high-quality service to our customers."

At BMG Entertainment, McIntyre was responsible for finance, legal and business affairs, human resources and information systems for the worldwide music company. He was also part of a four-person team which set the strategy for BMG Entertainment to grow from $800 million to $4.7 billion in revenue and from 18 to 54 country operations in 13 years.

Kozmo serves Atlanta; Boston; Chicago; Los Angeles; New York; Portland, Ore.; San Francisco; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.
