Secondary Office Equipment Market Launches Online

The estimated $130 billion global office equipment industry gets a new online connection online today with the launch of DealerSource.com, a global Internet marketplace that links office equipment dealers with suppliers of used, surplus and off-lease equipment. The Chicago-based companyÕs site seeks to centralize a fragmented and far-flung used equipment market while shrinking asset recovery cycles, which can last up to six months, according to company officials. The exchange matches dealersÕ needs with available equipment, thus enabling office equipment dealers to increase sales and profitability by giving them instant access to merchandise and supplies through its online equipment auction and supplies catalog. Initially, the web site will focus on copiers, printers and fax machines.
