Bay Bancshares Inc. has launched a newly designed online banking and online shopping Web site, developed with electronic banking software provider Jack Henry and Associates. The La Porte, Texas-based bank holding company is the exclusive beta test site for the development and implementation of Monett, Mo.-based Jack Henry's Net Harbor Web portal software. The new site allows users to customize content to fit their daily Internet needs, including news, local weather forecasts, stock quotes, community affairs, favorite Web links and online shopping. "Our goal is to create a one-stop, does-it-all Web site," says L.D. Wright, Bay Bancshares' CEO. The institution already offers ClickBank! Internet banking services. The portal provides income opportunities through the sale of advertising space and online shopping commissions, the bank says. Users will have access to more than 2 million products, including books, music, videos, toys, flowers and chocolates. The site further provides the platform for electronic bank statements and bill presentment.
