Internet-based card issuer NextCard Inc. has launched a cobranded Visa card with online retailer Amazon.com Inc. The card, which Seattle-based Amazon.com is currently promoting on its Web site, offers a points-based rewards program that allows consumers to earn free merchandise from Amazon.com and offers triple points for those purchases made with the retailer. The card's annual percentage rate varies based on a given applicant's credit profile and ranges from a 2.99% introductory rate to a fixed rate of 9.99%, says San Francisco-based NextCard.
