eStore And More

The flagship "eStore" of e-commerce services provider Beyond.com, located at www.beyond.com, was named the best computer and software site in the recent "Top of the E-Class" report published by the Centre for the Study of Commercial Activity at Ryerson Polytechnic University.

The study ranked 170 sites in 17 merchandise categories, operating from the U.S., Canada and Europe. Beyond.com's eStore was ranked No. 1 in its category based on the following criteria:

  • Marketing, encompassing Access to Site, External Loyalty Program, Store Location and Global Focus.
  • Visual Merchandising and Navigation, encompassing Creativity, Targeting to Market, Clarity and Navigation Ease.
  • Assortment Offering and Price Strategy, encompassing Width, Uniqueness, Price/Value and Promotions.
  • Customer Service, encompassing Security/Privacy, Shipping Cost, Shipping Time, Return Policy, Pre-Purchase Assistance and Post-Purchase Service.
Santa Clara, Calif.-based Beyond.com builds, manages and markets online stores for businesses. The company also sells software and computer-related products to consumers and U.S. Government agencies. The company's BuyDirect Group provides eStores by Beyond.com, a suite of services that enables software developers, systems OEMs and hardware manufacturers to market and sell over the Internet. It has built and managed eStores for software and hardware industry firms such as Symantec, McAfee, Inprise/Borland and Microsoft, it says.
