ACIas e-wallet Emerges

Don Davis

Editor in Chief

Omaha, Neb.-based ACI Worldwide, an e-payment solutions provider, today introduced a smart e-wallet designed to make Internet transactions simpler and more secure. The Personal Online Data, or POD, e-wallet can be used on computers, mobile phones or digital televisions and uses digital certificates to secure online information. The e-wallet, which stores order form information such as credit card, shipping and billing details, also automatically shuts off if it is open and unused for a set period of time. The wallet also will store copies of transaction receipts and delivery dockets for checking on online orders. While ACI has not yet announced any partners who will utilize the new product, the company says a credit card company, bank or individual retailer can provide the POD e-wallets.
